About the artist
After training in Textiles and Fine Art at Canterbury College, Kent, Judy's career took her into art therapy, mental health, social work, palliative care and counselling until, after twenty five years, she left to resume her art work.
Her work is mainly abstract and she works in layers using fabric, paint, gesso and stitch.
Her ideas provide a starting point and then the process takes over and has a life of its own until the piece is resolved.
She's interested in surfaces: what is hidden and what is revealed and how the past plays a part in the present moment.
She hopes her work can be a focus for contemplation and can touch you in a personal way.
